Located on the edge of the county of Lincolnshire, on the banks of the River Trent, Gainsborough is a thriving historic market town, 34 miles from Sheffield, 21 miles from Doncaster and 17 miles from Lincoln. Gainsborough has a long-standing history of industry due to its busy inland port and was the manufacturing base of Marshall, Sons & Co - a major boiler manufacturer founded by William Marshall in 1848. The site, which was the subject of a £36m investment project in 2007, was sympathetically restored and developed to become Marshall’s Yard, a unique retail complex with an extensive range of stores and high quality dining options.
